Yucca schidigera. Native to southern Nevada and eastern California, this trunk forming yucca is very drought tolerant once established. It develops a large tuber under ground that re-sprouts new leaves and branches if the old vegetation gets damaged from fires. When in flower, the flower colors are a combination of white and purple, very attactive. Mojave Yucca grow on the desert floor up to 3500 feet in the Mojave and is cold hardy to 10°F. USDA Zone 8. These are grown from seed, not wild harvested. The grower starts them in very small pots, then progressively moves them up to the 1 gallon pot size shown.
