Rebutia perplexa is a very small globular cactus.The light green stems ( 1 inch of diameter) form a compact cluster. In the stems the tubercles are arranged in a spiral. On the top of each tubercle are the white areoles covered with very short radial spines yellow color (1/8 inch long). Flowers develop in the spring at the base or halfway up each mature stem.
